## How It Works

1. **Upload Your Data** — Upload product catalogs, FAQs, policies, and other content as data sources (TXT, JSON, PDF, CSV files). Website scraping is also available on Pro and Business plans.

2. **Create Your Agent** — Configure AI Assistants, Quizzes, Nudges, Exit Offers, or Recommendation Strips with custom styling, behavior, and AI instructions.

3. **Deploy & Go Live** — Add a simple embed script to your website. Agents start helping customers immediately.

## Data Sources

Supported file types:
- Plain Text (.txt)
- JSON (.json)
- Comma Separated Values (.csv)
- Portable Document Format (.pdf)

Maximum file size: 10MB per upload. Storage limits apply per plan.

### Order Data
For Recommendation Strips, order data uses a structured JSON format containing order history with products. Orders can be uploaded via file, captured automatically from confirmation pages using `window.badgerfyai.addOrder()`, or synced via the Consumer API.

## Consumer API

Available on Pro and Business plans. Endpoints include:
- `GET /datasources/:id/files` — List all data source files
- `POST /datasources/:id/files` — Create a new data source file
- `PUT /datasources/:id/files/:fileId` — Update an existing file
- `DELETE /datasources/:id/files/:fileId` — Delete a file
- `POST /datasources/:id/orders` — Create order data
- `PUT /datasources/:id/orders/:fileId` — Update order data
- `GET /jobs/:jobId` — Check processing job status

## Tool Calls (Advanced)

AI Assistants support tool calls (function calling) on Pro and Business plans. This allows the assistant to perform actions like adding items to cart, checking inventory, or integrating with external systems.

- **Business** ($899/month): All Pro features plus 1B AI tokens, 100MB storage, 15 team members, 10 projects

Overage pricing applies for usage beyond included amounts.

## Privacy & Security

- Customer data is never used to train AI models
- External AI providers have agreements not to use personal data for training
- Data source files can be permanently deleted at any time
- Only agent engagement is tracked on customer websites
- Privacy-first architecture with no permanent data retention beyond usage/billing data
